NEWS - JUNE 2011 Traditional Smalti , the beautiful, ancient handmade Italian glass favoured by eminent artists during the Renaissance, is produced by mixing various silicas and special minerals to arrive at it's authentic and special appearance. The small handmade batches result in natural variations in shape and colour, and allow artists maximum freedom to express their creativity. Venetian Smalti, our extremely affordable version of the original Smalti in size 15mmx15mm, is produced in very much the same way , and has been extremely well received locally by interior designers and mosaic artists alike.
